Sampler from a series of photographs taken with disposable (one-time use) cameras by Rick Hancox
A few years ago I began taking hundreds of still photographs using nothing but disposable still photographic cameras. Working with the technical limitations this presented (fixed-focus, wide angle lenses that distort at the edges, no control over exposure or shutter speed, flashes that trigger automatically) I experienced a certain creative emancipation that refocused the photographic act on the aesthetic joys of basic composition, colour, form, and light, and their effect on picture content.

Asian Eyefuls
A Selection of photos by Hal Thwaites, Associate Professor, Communication Studies.
Most everyone knows that I have traveled to Asia many times and visited many countries.
Each trip is an exciting discovery of a new culture which presents countless fascinating
photo opportunities. Needles to say I have several thousand pictures as a result.
Here is a small sampling of what I saw in Asia.

Inside CJ
A Selection of recent photos by Hal Thwaites, Associate Professor, Communication Studies.
We have all spent time in the new CJ building. Some of us may love it, and some of us are not so sure. I spent many days this semester inside this new structure, comprised of the very old bones of the Drummond Science Building sheathed in new exterior and interior "finishings". Here's a look at what I found over the course of a weekend inside. "If you don't go in, you can't find out". Enjoy!

Between Sand and Snow
Rae Staseson - Between Sand and Snow Photo Series 2004 (a sampling)
During July 2004, throughout southern and central Saskatchewan,
I recorded video and audio for my project "Between Sand and Snow".
I also shot an extensive collection of digital photos. The following photographs
represent a sampling of some of the sites I visited and hope to include in this
project.

The Immersive Experience of OSMOSE: An Audience Study, (Web Site)
This project is a qualitative study of the perceptual impact of the immersive environment OSMOSE on people who experience the work. It represents the first formal, detailed, examination of the audience (immersant's) response to and interaction with, this particular virtual environment since its creation in 1995. Professor Hal Thwaites.
